Who Is the Coppes Dutch Lady?
The Coppes Dutch Lady has been part of our story since around 1916, when she first appeared in advertising and on the front of our Hoosier Cabinets — cabinets that were proudly crafted right here in Nappanee and shipped across the country. Though we don’t know exactly who created her or why, it’s likely she was chosen to represent the strong Dutch heritage of this community — a heritage still deeply rooted here today.
More than just a friendly figure, the Dutch Lady came to symbolize the pride and care that went into every cabinet we built. Her image reflected the values Coppes has always stood for: hard work, timeless craftsmanship, and the quiet confidence that comes from doing things the right way.
